First thing, we had gone to an orphanage. The kids' ages ranged from the youngest being 2 and the oldest being 11. Our team had Taught them a memory verse, performed a short skit, and gave a bible lesson. After that, the group of kids had made things from arts & crafts, and played some basketball outside. I got EXHAUSTED. Later on in the day, our team traveled 45 minutes to a church in a village of Gauntier. Here we met up with over 350 kids who surrounded us. They all sat in pews as they listened to the bible lesson. We also sang songs and made some arts & crafts. At the end, every child was given a snack as they went home.
Immediately I felt the love from the kids; they were so welcoming and polite to us. Constantly asking them "what is your name?" (in Creole of course). although the language barrier was strong, the holy spirit definitely worked throughout the day; and the spirit does NOT speak a language.
These kids need love and to be loved. From what I have noticed, they are willing to give out their love, but they just need somebody to love them back.
