Well, construction is underway in a big way. We have a small team of four men from Tennessee working alongside our Brazilian team on the construction of our Multi-purpose building. We call it multi-purpose as it serves as our church, rooms for our seminary and Sunday school classes, camp dorm and guest rooms for visiting mission teams. We are currently installing all bathroom fixtures for three bathrooms, lighting in and around the building, and completing the roof! There is still much finish work to be done but thankfully this week we will have made a huge step forward on our progress chart! We are preparing to host a team of youth on missions in March so we’re hoping to have all sleeping quarters ready to accommodate them.
We have been very encouraged by all the visiting teams and enjoy very much watching them build relationships with the people that we work with. One of the men on this trip brought with him two beautiful, handmade blankets that a prior team member sent for two very needy children in the favelas. When that other man was here he was so touched by the kids that he went back home and, along with his wife, made the blankets for the children to remember him by until he comes back again later this year.
Thanks to everyone for your prayers, encouragement and love!
Pete & Jodi
