Today Tuesday, there was plenty of time-consuming work that we were able to do. We helped the workers cut, bend and lift the rebar to the roof, as well as organize all the planks of wood throughout the site. We were even able to pick up nails from the ground as the workers are very resourceful, and many times they reuse their materials. In addition, since many of the children gather around the site barefooted, we wanted to clear up as much debris from the site as possible. We are grateful that several team members were able to join the construction crew up on the roof to advance the rebar work for the pouring of the concrete later in the week. Earlier that morning, as we prayed for protection and for God’s angels to encamp around us, prayers were answered as many children in the neighborhood gathered around to help in any way they could. Those were our angels. We could see the joy in their faces as they gained satisfaction in the knowledge that they were playing an integral role in building their future school.
