Being that the church is right next to the school lot, and the pastor has been very hospitable, we decided to start our day with prayer at the church. Half of the team worked on the roof, while the other half worked on leveling the ground around the foundation. After school let out, the local children joined us eagerly waiting for their turn to help out. We shared our gloves with them as they helped us with the digging. They even brought us fresh coconuts, candy, and fruit. While some of us were invited to eat “moro de habichuelas” with local families, others prayed with the children at the church.
